  RESTORED BY INDIAN MOTOR WORKS

Machinist’s by trade, we work out of a 10,000 sq’ fully facilitated machine shop that is specifically dedicated to the refurbishing and restoration of Indian motorcycles for the last 35 plus years. Absolutely no corners cut as every machine and every powerplant that comes out of our facility has to meet a specific criteria for which we have a long standing reputation for attention to detail and quality workmanship. These machines are built to ride!! One can expect all attributes of a quality job, ie: first start kicks, strong cylinder pressure ( compression ), good torque, quiet valve train, 350 RPM idle, smooth shifting, smooth balancing, strong braking, dependable electrics, jig aligned frames and front ends, full thread and bushing restoration and ultimately  a bike that tracks straight down the road. We are particular about good mechanics as well as correctness, ie: lights, levers, switches, brackets, gauges and certainly speedometers. Restorations often have a similar appearance but we believe whole-heartedly that it is the integrity of the restorer or the lack of that you are really purchasing. It’s important not to be just a builder but also a committed rider as we’ve experienced through the years this is where we get the best feedback. We started doing extensive rides on the ‘ol steeds in the early ‘70’s ( five to seven thousand mile trips ) just to find out where our work needed to be improved, what was and wasn’t holding up and where we could make a better and longer lasting machine. To do a bike correctly it takes a combination of special qualities…knowledge, parts, conviction, patience, not being driven by the “buck” and having the facilities/machinery and the expertise to execute. Years of R&D, extensive tooling, special jigs, fixtures and tens of thousands of dollars invested, all for the effort of making a better and more reliable Indian motorcycle. If you are looking for an antique to ride, enjoy and maintain its value we’d be happy to visit with you. Our customers have become our friends…feel free to contact me personally with any questions.
